Position Overview:
The HVAC Apprentice will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and propane/oil systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in a long-term career in the HVAC industry. You’ll work alongside seasoned professionals, receive hands-on training, and gain the skills needed to become a licensed HVAC technician.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed technicians with HVAC system installations, tune-ups, and service calls.
- Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot residential and light commercial heating and cooling systems.
- Help with routine maintenance, including filter changes, system checks, and cleaning.
- Load, unload, and organize tools, parts, and equipment for service vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, both in the shop and on job sites.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.
- Interact professionally with customers and represent J.J. Sullivan with a positive attitude.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Prior HVAC, electrical, or mechanical experience or schooling is a plus but not required.
